Even if you’re not a Spider-Man fan, you know for sure who Mysterio is. Jake Gyllenhaal played his part in “Spider-Man: Far from Home”, which has become Sony’s biggest hit of all time. So the studio decided to present Mysterio to us in a standalone movie.
You know what happened after the clash between Peter Parker and Quentin Beck, better known as Mysterio. Yes, the latter caused his own downfall. But in the Marvel cinema universe, characters often fake their deaths, so it’s possible that the famous villain might have done the same. And everyone is aware that he is a master of illusions.
Apparently Sony will be presenting to us movies about all the villains in the Spider-Man universe. First was Venum, which came as a big surprise and broke records last year. Work on its sequel has already begun, with Andy Serkis directing this time. Next year, we expect Jared Leto to act as the vampire Morbius, and then it will probably see Jake Gyllenhaal’s big return to Mysterio.
For now, we only know that the studio is “developing a movie project for Mysterio.” This means that it can abandon the idea if it does not like the direction of the scenario. But the hope is that this will become another successful hit for Sony after its “divorce” with Marvel.
