Yes, you read correctly. Robert Downey Jr. will return to the Marvel universe as the Iron Man. He will have a small role in the studio’s next big hit, Black Widow, in which Scarlett Johansson will play the lead.
The news came this weekend and generated a lot of comments. Initially, everyone was convinced that this was another rumor about one of the most anticipated productions next year. Then came the official confirmation.
It happened during the awarding of the Saturn Awards, where Downey Jr. was honored for his role in Avengers: Endgame. It was then announced that we would see him in the next Marvel movie, which will officially launch Phase 4 for their superheroes’ saga.
We do not yet know exactly how the Iron Man will return after the events of Avengers: Endgame. According to some information Downey Jr. will not be shooting scenes for the upcoming hit, and his involvement will be in the form of unused footage between him and Johansson from “Captain America: Civil War”.
Expectations for the Black Widow movie are high and they will increase even more with the inclusion of the iconic for the Avengers’series Downey Jr. In addition to Johansson, we will also see in the film David Harbor, Florence Pugh, O.T. Fagbenli and Rachel Weisz. We expect the premiere on May 1, 2020.
