For ten months, we have been unaware of the developments surrounding the inspirational idea of Jean-Luc Picard to return to new adventures in the Star Trek world but just days ago “CBS All Access” provided the first teaser trailer of the series “Star Trek: Picard”.
Perhaps not all die-hard fans of the legendary series are delighted that TV responsibilities are now in the hands of showrunners such as Alex Kurtzman and Akiva Goldsman because they see them as people hired to “do the job” rather than fans who are aware of what the Star Trek legacy is. Still, the hope for this series lies in the hands of Sir Patrick Stewart, whom we know as a one of a kind actor – and we hope to get a script worthy of his class.
At the very least it begins promising – with vineyards, memories (or an unknown future?) And a promise of vintage-elixir. The official synopsis does not say much:
In “Star Trek: Picard”, Sir Patrick Stewart reappears in the iconic role of Jean-Luc Picard, whom he has known for seven seasons of “Star Trek: The Next Generation”. The new series will follow his character in the next part of his life. The new series also includes Alison Pill, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Isa Brioni, Santiago Cabrera and Harry Treadaway.
We like to be teases us with wisdom like “The end is just the beginning”, even more so when it comes to trips between the stars – we are sure that the captain will not be “safe” near his well-arranged plantations and will be tempted by something… beyond the mastery of placing a fermentary elixir in bottles. Let’s see when and how things will happen – neither the teaser nor the poster share a premiere date. We will wait…
